Five steps to Beautifully restored pavers:
1. Hot Water power wash 200°
2. Remove Weeds (additional)
3. Reset Un-even pavers (additional)
4. Poly sand all paver joints
5. Apply clear coat protective sealant
Before any new sealer can be applied, the paver surface must be thoroughly cleaned. In most cases, the use of a high temperature hot water power washing cleaner will be used. In some instances, a chemical cleaning agent may be applied to lift stubborn stains. We use top of the line, powerful machines specifically designed for pavers and natural stone.
During the cleaning process, most of the joint sand between the pavers will be forced out from between the pavers, along with any dirt, weeds, and plant material. Our steam cleaning process leaves your pavers and natural stone unbelievably clean!
Sanding The Joints
Fresh, clean, new joint sand needs to be put between the joints once the paver surface has been completely cleaned and the old joint sand has been removed. In order to replace the sand that was removed during cleaning, fresh polymetric sand is swept over the paver surface at this stage of the procedure.
The joint sand is then swept clean into the pavers to secure it. Sand is forced between the pavers then water is applied to the surface to harden the poly sand. Sand will not be left on the paver surface after a project that has been thoroughly sanded.
We apply according to ICPI (Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute) industry requirements which state that joint sand should extend between 1/8th and 1/4th inch below the brick paver’s edge.
Once the joint sand is at the proper level, the newly cleaned paver stones can be sealed. Because we use a professional grade and high quality water based sealer, there is no need to let the surface dry out. This is an additional step to bind the poly sand. The sealer is applied liberally, making sure that the new joint sand is thoroughly saturated.
The penetrating sealer not only prevents stains, but also hardens and stabilizes the joint sand, keeping your paver system in place. This provides a wet look and brings out the color. Our commercial grade sealer is environmentally friendly and includes algae/mold inhibitor. Your newly cleaned and sealed pavers are then ready for use after 24 hours.
We provide cleaning, sealing and restoration services to homes and businesses throughout Ocean County, New Jersey.
How can I prevent my pavers from becoming dirty again?
Nothing is more upsetting than watching your investment lose value. After we’ve cleaned your pavers, we can seal them with a water-based joint stabilizing paver sealant, which will help shield them from future stains and make them easier to clean. This sealant will not only protect your pavers but also improve their appearance by bringing out their natural hues. One of the best advantages of sealing pavers with a joint stabilizing sealer is that it has an epoxy-like binder additive that will harden the sand between your pavers, protecting against weed growth, sand loss (which is the main cause of dirty pavers), and insect invasion. This benefit is in addition to the protection and improved appearance.
Paver Sealing Keeps Your Paver Patio, Driveway and Walkways Looking Great
Our primary service at Renu, LLC is paver sealing. We have consistently upheld the idea that pavers look their best, are the simplest to maintain, and last the longest when regularly cleaned and sealed (once every 2-3 years depending on use). Unfortunately, most paver owners are not adequately informed during installation about the correct maintenance needed to get the most life out of pavers.
We have years of experience with the interlocking paver system and are unable to identify and address small problems that might otherwise result in more serious problems. Our paver sealing procedure includes key essential phases that make it the best overall for your pavers and your money.
The Advantages of Sealing Pavers
By sealing your pavers, you can keep them in top condition and make it simpler for you to keep weeds and sand out of the joints. We replace the sand in the joint throughout the restoration procedure and mix it with polymers. The joint will be incredibly hard once it has “set.” This makes it easier for you to regularly clean your pavers, which is essential to keep weeds at bay. The stabilized sand’s maintenance advantages are complemented by the sealant’s ability to prevent stains from damaging your pavers.
